This, ladies and gentleman is my girlfriend. I am no Shakespeare or Jane Austen like she is but i’ll give it my best shot. We’ve meet 3 years ago at the old restaurant I used to work at and instantly I knew she was something special, she was the one. But it wasn’t until recently, after countless tries and my many failed attempts to win her heart… she finally said yes! She has made me feel, invincible. Constantly giving me her support in whatever I do I can only give her my heart as a token of my appreciation(as if I had a choice, she stole it from the beginning!) Everyday I need her even more, and in the night time too. There’s no way I could ever let her go, even if I wanted too. The way she makes me feel, no one has even come close to making me feel the way she does. I would drop whatever it is I’m doing to please her, to make her happy. Her happiness matter more to me than my own. To my girlfriend, my lover, my soulmate, my fiance and the mother of our future children.. I love you, and I’m in love with you. Because honestly you’ve stolen this poor guys heart, and its yours if you want it. I trust you keep it safe. And there’s so many words I could use to put in a sentence or paragraph, maybe even a book (who know’s maybe even an encyclopedia lol) but I couldn’t type them right because I would want it to be perfect just for you. Rather than fighting for every woman’s right to feel beautiful, I would like to see the return of a kind of feminism that tells women and girls everywhere that maybe it’s all right not to be pretty and perfectly well behaved. That maybe women who are plain, or large, or old, or differently abled, or who simply don’t give a damn what they look like because they’re too busy saving the world or rearranging their sock drawer, have as much right to take up space as anyone else.
I think if we want to take care of the next generation of girls we should reassure them that power, strength and character are more important than beauty and always will be, and that even if they aren’t thin and pretty, they are still worthy of respect. That feeling is the birthright of men everywhere. It’s about time we claimed it for ourselves.
